VSO sends skilled and experienced volunteers to work with communities in the developing world, and campaigns in Britain to change attitudes towards the South. VSO is a UK registered charity, No. 313757. |
The Edinburgh and South East Scotland Local VSO Group exists to support the activities of VSO in the Edinburgh Area. We are involved in fundraising, recruitment, development education and volunteer support activities, as well as some purely social events. Most events take place at members' homes, and most (but not all) of our current members are returned volunteers.

Planning Meetings are held roughly every 2 months at 6.30 before the pub nights at the nearby Volunteer Centre. So come along and contribute your ideas in a big or small way in a friendly, welcoming, appreciative, informal atmosphere. | |||||

Le Di- Vin wine bar is the relatively new pub night venue. It is at 9 Randolph Place, so still not far from the Volunteer Centre. It is just past Harry's Bar but in the same building as La P'tite Folie restaurant - but through the back. Hope you find it OK. See website too.http://www.ledivin.co.uk/about.html I think we will have one of the tables on the balcony and there should be a VSO sign on the table, so if no-one’s there at 7-30, stick around – someone will turn up soon! This is our informal monthly get-together, and an ideal opportunity for prospective and returned volunteers to ask questions and share information and experiences. | |||||
